The words ‘catering assistant’ and ‘social life’ don’t often go together. Well, not this time. With this job you will not work evenings, you will work 37.5 hours between Monday – Sunday, and you will not be under heavy pressure and stress.You will be joining an established kitchen team at Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries. It’s a calm and pleasurable working environment, where you’ll be able to manage your workload and develop your career. There’s a great social aspect to this role where you can interact with people outside the kitchen regularly. Just imagine… home in time for dinner every night. Two days off a week. And not stressed to the hilt. * Rota'd weekend work will be required Your responsibilities • Supporting the provision of the catering operation and assisting with basic food preparation and hygiene • Assisting the senior catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with Company’s assured safe catering policies and procedures. • Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation. • To ensure that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly • To be responsible for the departments cleaning chemicals and equipment. To be successful in this role, you'll need • Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP • Experience of working within similar role.
