RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME CHEF – TOTTON CARE HOME. 28 HOUR CONTRACT PERMANENT – OVER £17,200 PER ANNUM !! Residents will be supported by friendly, experienced and professional staff who are highly trained in all aspects of care. We do as a home specialise in dementia care but are fully able and equipped to meet a multitude of care needs. Our recruitment process is rigorous and we are careful to ensure only the very best staff are selected. Staff have a firm commitment to exceptional care. The manager is well trained in all aspects of care and trained to level 4 of care to comply with the regulatory body requirements. The activities programme is extensive with an outside company providing a selection of activities to meet clients needs. What is the job? Menus are varied and ingredients are sourced locally – a comprehensive menu allows for choice at all mealtimes and residents are encouraged to participate. Room service is also offered to residents if they wish and we are happy to meet anyone’s needs in this regard. We have a 5 star kitchen inspection and a good CQC report. This is just a small snap shot of the role – • Prepare, cook and present food to company specification • Keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times • Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues • Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions • Adhere to company policies and procedures and licensing laws • Be involved and contribute at all team meetings Carry out instructions as given by management and head office • Preparing attractive menus to nutritional standards • Controlling stock Preparing meat, fish and vegetables for cooking • Presenting food creatively • Maintaining quality and adhering to hygiene and health and safety regulations whilst instilling a knowledge of allergens, nutrition and diets What we are looking for? Must be able to commit to these hours to work alongside the other chef on a 2 week rolling rota Week 1 – Mon 8am-6pm / Sat 8am – 6pm / Sunday 8am – 2pm Week 2 – Wed 8am – 6pm / Thur 8am – 6pm / Friday 8am – 6pm.
