Our client, a franchised dealer group in the RM postcode area of Essex is currently recruiting for a Smart Repair Technician to join their busy bodyshop team. The basic salary on offer is £25k – £28k with up to £8k bonus. You will be responsible for carrying out any general cosmetic repairs to customer vehicles and used-car stock. Your work will be of the highest standard and workmanship, using the tools provided and cover all sites in the Essex area for the Group. Role responsibilities – including but not limited to • To examine vehicles to identify additional work for repair, liaising with the Service Manager to obtain permission to proceed • To carry out alloy wheel refurbishments • To carry out cosmetic paint repairs • To carry out seat fabric repairs • To carry out minor dent removals • To clearly document all work performed ensuring that times are recorded accurately and within agreed time frames • To take care of vehicles whilst being worked on • To adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain a tidy workstation Who you need to be • You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management • You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment recognising individual responsibility to contribute to the performance and success of the team. You will have an understanding of the needs of others and a willingness to go the extra mile • You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills • You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed time frames • You will be able to develop rapport and trust with customers and to resolve conflict situations calmly and reasonably • You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well presented Your experience • You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry, working on basic and complex small to medium repairs • You must be apprentice-trained and qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanical, Maintenance & Repair or NVQ equivalent.
