One of our large US Law Firm clients is looking for a Client Billing Specialist to join their London office.

The primary function of the role will be to process the firms bills using the Elite program.

The candidate will be required to work closely with the London based Accounts team and other billing groups.

You will also be required to work with a range of accounting and finance staff as well as legal secretaries, administrative support staff, and the AML team to ensure all billing is accurate and efficient.

The main responsibilities of this Client Billing Specialist role will be the production of a range of bills and credit notes in compliance with procedures making sure this is done in a timely fashion.

You will also undertake transactional billing for the London Office and assist Fee-Earners and their secretaries in the creation of bills, as well as chasing Partners with monthly bills when required.

Another key part of the role will be to monitor bill production and ensure that all the firms compliance procedures are strictly adhered to ensuring Alternative Fee Arrangement are correctly identified on the Elite system and you must be, confident in consulting with senior staff members such as the Finance and Accounting Manager and Director of Administration where appropriate.

The role will also require you to distribute finalised bills to relevant departments, produce missing or pending reports, enhance billing process and services where possible, provide training and support on paperless e-billing , daily interface with credit department to ensure accurate processing of bank statements, working with the AML team to ensure compliance is adhered to and assisting the Client Cashier on day-to-day transaction when necessary.

The successful candidate will need to have sound knowledge of Thompson Elite system and 3E accounting software, this is a vital part of the role.

Computer literacy with basic office programmes Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel predominantly.

A good understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and anti-money laundering regulations and VAT is desired, along with prior experience in a billing department working with automated billing systems.

Previous experience in a legal billing department is essential along with the ability to produce work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

This is a full-time position, but you must have a flexible attitude to working hours to meet tight deadlines.

The Client Billing Specialist role will be paying between £38,000- £40,000
