We are a rapidly growing team of 9 energetic scientists looking for a smart, organised, and driven individual to help us take our graphene-enhanced battery materials to market.

  • You will ideally have experience in producing or testing Li-ion battery electrodes. You must be passionate about the role of sustainable energy in society’s push to transition to a greener future. You will work within our established battery team to scale up our technology and help develop the batteries of the future

  • 35 hours per week (1 hour for lunch per day)
  • Possibility of 2 days remote working per week (to be negotiated)

Required Proficiencies/Experience

  • Degree in a STEM subject. Practical experience in a formulations environment or battery electrode development/manufacture is essential;
  • An understanding of chemical safety principles, especially COSHH or HAZOP;
  • Proficiency in Excel or other record-keeping software;
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Organisation and decision-making skills

Preferred Proficiencies/Experience

  • Experience with operating potentiostats and related test hardware;
  • >3yrs experience in an R&D environment, in an academic or industrial setting;
  • Experience of pilot-scale electrode production;
  • Development experience in industrially relevant electrode design or coating;
  • Development experience in formulation of composite electrodes;
  • Experience in a hardware environment, e.g. workshop


  • Working with the Senior Battery Scientist to drive our electrode technologies to market readiness;
  • Planning and performing experiments to achieve scientific deliverables constructed with the team, working with other scientists or independently as appropriate;
  • Working with the scaleup team and commercial team to guide product development;
  • Develop new systems to ensure processes are conducted efficiently
