Four Russian tourists killed in Greek road accident: police

Four Russian tourists died early on Friday and another 29 including the group’s Greek driver were injured when their bus overturned near the northern city of Thessaloniki, local police said.

The Russians were vacationing in the Halkidiki peninsula and were returning to Thessaloniki’s Makedonia airport for the flight home, a police source said.

Four of the injured are in serious condition.

Reports said the Russian dead were two men and two women.

State television NET showed footage of the overturned bus.

Rain was falling in the area when the accident occurred shortly after 4:00 am (0100 GMT).
