Drunk Moscow driver kills seven at bus stop

A drunken man racing at 200 kilometres (125 miles) per hour through Moscow slammed into a bus stop queue Saturday, instantly killing four children and three adults, a police spokesman said.

Another four people were injured, with one requiring hospitalisation, Moscow authorities said.

“According to preliminary information, the driver was under the influence of alcohol,” the police spokesman was quoted as saying by Interfax.

News reports said police had detained the suspect. The children’s ages ranged between 14 and 16.

The incident happened in western Moscow in a sparsely populated part of the city near its main film studio.
