VOORBURG – The unemployment rate for women is still higher than that for men, but the decline in unemployment over the past months has primarily been among women.

This emerged from figures that Statistics Netherlands (CBS) published on Thursday.

An average of 313,000 people were unemployed between November and January, 66,000 less than a year earlier. The number of unemployed women fell by 40,000, while there were only 26,000 fewer unemployed men.
