Students of lower vocational education want to travel for free, like their counterparts in higher vocational education.

UTRECHT - Students of lower vocational education have started a campaign to obtain a travel card that entitles them to free public transport.

They argue it is unfair that their counterparts in higher vocational education are entitled to a travel card while they are not.

The students handed out flyers during rush hour at Utrecht Central Station on Tuesday morning to publicise their cause.

Deputy Transport Minister Marja van Bijsterveldt says there are no funds to give the public transport card to more vocational education students.
