Police called to a house in the South Holland village of Lisserbroek on Saturday evening to investigate a report of domestic violence ended up shooting a man who resisted arrest

LISSERBROEK - Police called to a house in the South Holland village of Lisserbroek on Saturday evening to investigate a report of domestic violence ended up shooting a man who resisted arrest.

When the police approached the house, from which the man's wife and two children had already fled, they were fired upon with what was thought to be an air pistol.

Because the man indicated that he had other weapons, a special squad was despatched to arrest him.

When the squad entered the house, the man pointed a firearm at its members, who shot him. The man was then taken a hospital. It is not know how severely he was injured.
