Pedophile association chairman denies child porn charges

The Dutch Public Prosecution Office has demanded a four-year prison sentence, eight of them conditional, against Ad van den Berg, chairman of the pedophile association Martijn for the possession and collection of child pornography.

Mr Van den Berg says he had the 150,000 photos and 7500 films for research purposes, “Not for my own sexual pleasure”.

Lawyer Yme Drost brought the case after parents of a three-year-old child who was sexually abused in 2009, said the child’s abuser got tips from the Martijn website on how to abuse children. The lawyer wants the court to reverse a decision not to prosecute the association itself. He wants to see the organisation banned.
