THE NETHERLANDS - The weather conditions have caused havoc on the roads; nine people have been killed in road accidents since the winter weather set in.

On Sunday morning, three members of the same family were killed when their car skidded and hit a coach. The coach was empty at the time of the accident and the driver was not injured.

The Dutch Meteorological Institute warned of icy conditions on the roads again today and predicted heavy snowfalls in the late afternoon and evening.
