THE NETHERLANDS - A worldwide survey by computer company IBM shows the Netherlands is still attractive to foreign companies, with the IT and chemical sectors among the most popular.

The renewable energy sector is also attracting foreign investors, whereas transport is much less popular.

The survey shows that 2007's foreign investments in the Netherlands were on a par with 2006, while foreign investments worldwide showed a clear downturn.

The main beneficiary of the positive climate for investors was the urban conglomeration in the west of the country, known as the Randstad.
