Most Dutch people feel healthy

Data published by CBS, the Dutch statistics office, shows that eight in ten Dutch citizens say their health is good to very good. Just under four percent of those interviews said their health was bad or even very bad.

Not surprisingly, the elderly felt less healthy than young people and men 82 percent felt healthier than women 78 percent.

CBS blames the difference on the fact that women generally live longer than man and are more likely to suffer from long-term complaints. In particular people with back problems complain about being in poor health. Only 46 percent of those suffering from back problems say they are in good health.
