AMSTERDAM - More than half of Dutch nationals have had at least one romantic relationship at work, a poll conducted by Harris Interactive said Tuesday.

The poll, conducted among 426 full-time employees for career website JobbingMall.nl in the run up to Valentine's Day on 14 February, also said that 27 percent of Dutch employees have had a romantic relationship with more than five colleagues.

But just 4 percent said they married their office sweetheart.

Most people who conduct office romances are found in the age group of 45 to 54-year-olds (62 percent). The lowest percentage of office romances is found in the age group of 35 to 44-years (46 percent).

Some 41 percent of employees say they have had a relationship with someone in a higher professional position, but 99 percent of them said it did not boost their careers.
