Dutch banking and insurance conglomerate to expand in developing markets of Mexico and Brazil.

AMSTERDAM - Dutch banking and insurance conglomerate ING is planning to expand in Latin America's developing markets, especially Mexico and Brazil.

The push for growth, which will concentrate on pensions and life insurance, was launched at a symposium in Amsterdam. The group says the expansion will be driven by takeovers and organic growth.

ING is already the second-largest provider of pensions in Latin America, with more than 15 million customers. Nearly three-quarters of the region's wealth management assets are held in Mexico and Brazil.
