Friday's Dutch Premier League action saw VVV beat Willem II 1-4, extending its lead over its  bottom-of-the-league rival to seven points.

VVV took charge of the match after some 20 minutes, when Ruud Boymans converted a penalty after captain Arjan Swinkels had been given a red card for handling the ball.

Shortly after half-time, Boymans scored again, followed by Balazs Toth from Hungary and Diogo Viana. At the very end, Maceo Rigters managed to net Willem II's only goal.

In the 69th minute, referee Kevin Blom briefly suspended the match because of the insults the Tilburg fans kept hurling at the other side.
