Three Dutchmen arrested in Amsterdam last November for alleged involvement in an Islamist plot to attack Belgium will be extradited to the target country, a Dutch court decided on Thursday.

The three men, all of Moroccan origin, should be sent to Belgium within the next ten days, Amsterdam district court spokeswoman Polly van Dijk told AFP.

Aged 25, 26 and 28, the three were arrested in Amsterdam on November 23 at the request of the Belgian authorities, on suspicion of involvement in a Chechnya-linked Islamist network plotting to attack Belgium using an extremist internet site, Ansar Al Mujahideen.

They were among 11 suspects rounded up in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

"Belgium has demanded their extradition in connection with the ongoing investigation, in which they are suspects," prosecution spokeswoman Ruth Gorissen said.

Belgian investigators suspect the group of recruiting "jihadist candidates" and of financing "a Chechen terrorist organisation, the Caucasus Emirate".
