THE NETHERLANDS - The Central Holland regional police force has opened its own channel on YouTube. Called Gesnapt! (Caught in the Act!), it shows film clips recorded on closed circuit cameras of criminals committing crimes. It is hoped that this will increase the chance of arresting burglars and people who have committed assaults.

Central Holland is not the first Dutch police force to use the internet to combat crime, but it is the first to use of YouTube in this way.
