AMSTERDAM - The first KLM plane carrying Dutch travellers stranded in Thailand landed at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport early Tuesday morning, with 428 passengers on board.

The plane departed from Phuket due to anti-government demonstrations shutting down all Bangkok airports.

1,500 Dutch nationals are still stranded in Thailand. KLM hopes to fly them back on a daily basis.

A number of Dutch people already returned on other airlines over the past few days.
