Dutch hotels want guest blacklist

The Dutch Data Protection Agency has given permission for hotels to compile a blacklist of guests who seriously misbehave, says news broadcaster RTL.

Dutch hoteliers say they are losing patience their dealing with customers who damage and steal property, are a nuisance to other guests and threaten or abuse staff. They argue that security cameras and personnel can no longer properly tackle the problem.

It is being suggested that people’s names, addresses and telephone numbers should be included on the blacklist. The problems caused and the date when the trouble took place will also be included.
