The Russian rocket that will take Dutch physician and astronaut André Kuipers to the International Space Station is now scheduled to take off on 21 December.

Mr Kuipers announced the news in a Twitter message. The launch has been postponed three times so far.

The Dutch astronaut is to remain on board the ISS for six months to conduct dozens of scientific experiments.

This will be his second stay in space. In 2004, Mr Kuipers, a native from Amsterdam, remained in space for nine days. cl
