Dutch artist Tinkebell has been cleared of abusing 95 hamsters at a gallery.

The woman was accused after making the hamsters spin in hamster balls for more than four hours in January 2008. Two hours is the allowed maximum. A court in Amsterdam ruled it could not be shown that the hamsters had been harmed.

The Public Prosecutor had called for a 950 euro fine. The gallery owner was cleared too.

Tinkebell is the pseudonym of Katinka Simonse, 31.
