Anglo-Dutch publishing giant Reed Elsevier said Thursday its 2010 net profit jumped 71 percent to 751 million euros ($1.01 billion) as the company restructured its business.

Sales, given in pounds sterling, were little changed at £6.06 billion ($9.76 billion), with operating profit slipping 1.0 percent to £1.55 billion.

For 2011, Reed Elsevier said it expected markets to be either flat or higher but its competitive position would improve.
