The Mayor of Amsterdam Job Cohen and his Rotterdam counterpart Ahmed Aboutaleb have agreed to take tough action if Sunday's match between Ajax and Feyenoord gets out of hand.

AMSTERDAM - If the duel between the Amsterdam and Rotterdam rivals is disrupted by hooliganism or offensive chants, the supporters of the two clubs will be banned from attending away matches for the next five years.

The two mayors reached the agreement following incidents at Thursday evening's match between the youth teams of Feyenoord and Ajax, which was beset by offensive chants and fireworks thrown onto the pitch.

The Mayors have received information that there is a high risk of trouble breaking out between rival supporters at Sunday's match at the Amsterdam Arena.
