THE NETHERLANDS - A survey of 600 Dutch shows that nearly all of them feel that Guus Hiddink should be proud of Russia's victory over the Netherlands in the European football championships.

Ninety-eight percent of those questioned don't blame Guus Hiddink for coaching the Russian team, and 60 percent want him to become the new Dutch coach. They have more confidence in him than in Bert van Marwijk, Marco van Basten's successor.

More than half of those interviewed hope that Russia will win the tournament, with only 6 percent favouring Germany.
