Join ‘Czech Stars’ on Saturday 14 February in The Hague for a taste of Czech music, film, food and how the country trades worldwide.

The first half of this year the Czech Republic will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU, an historic occasion which signals a time for the rest of Europe to take a closer look at the country. ‘Czech Stars’ will give you the opportunity find out more about Czech accomplishments in business, music, film and food.

The Czech Centre and Czech Tourism invite you to join them to taste and experience some of the best of their country on Saturday 14 February at the ‘Nutshuis’ in the centre of The Hague at Riviervismarkt 5 (near the‘Grote Kerk’).

14.00:    Czech Centre and Czech Tourism offer a word of welcome.
14.10:    A concert by the Jazz quartet Q Vox whose singers will swing you into festive mood with their programme of European Jazz from the 20’s and 30’s.
15.00:    Prague’s top caterer has been invited to give you the opportunity of savouring the typical Bohemian cuisine, rich both in taste and ingredients. If you’re interested you can even follow a cookery class to learn how to rustle up some of the dishes yourself.

Take time to visit an exhibition of Czech trade and Czech Tourism, especially useful if you intend to take part in a quiz to win a round trip to Prague for two!
16.00:    Screening of award winning Czech film director Milos Forman’s movie ‘The Firemen’s Ball’. The venue is the ‘vault’ of the building which was originally a bank.

Drinks and snacks will be served to round off the event.

Tickets are free of charge, but registration is obligatory. A lot of invitations have been sent out and places are filling up fast, so don’t wait too long.
