Cocaine trafficking trail uncovered at Schiphol

Fifteen people have been arrested in the Netherlands and Aruba for smuggling cocaine via Schiphol Airport.

SCHIPHOL - Fifteen men have been detained in the Netherlands and Aruba on suspicion of cocaine trafficking.

Seven of them were arrested at the airports of Schiphol and Aruba.
They work in the catering sector and hid the cocaine on flights between Aruba and the Netherlands.

In August, 20 kilograms of cocaine were discovered in the flaps of catering trolleys; in October, five kilograms were detected in a laptop bag.

On one plane, drugs were spotted between garbage bags. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is around EUR 750,000.
