Unique holiday villa in Noordwijk within walking distance of beach, close to Amsterdam and the Keukenhof

We, with our family have ourselves lived in this villa for 10 years with great pleasure. In spite of its large size the house gives you a warm cozy home feeling. The villa is suitable for 12 persons and is wonderfully spacious and comfortable. The furnishings are sturdy yet with its own special atmosphere. The greatest complement our guests have left us on their departure was that they felt directly at home here.

The villa has a sheltered garden where you can bask in the summer sun. In the winter it provides a fireplace to snuggle near after a brisk beach walk. A great advantage of villa Binnenzee is that the accommodation is only a 10 minute walk from the beach at Noordwijk aan Zee.

The History

Villa Binnenzee  is a former shed built in 1902 which functioned as a place to dry flower bulbs until the 70’s. In 2000 we bought the property to rebuild and live in. We saw the renovation as both a challenge and as an important contribution to preserving this magnificent piece of history for the Bollenstreek (flower bulb area). The renovation which ultimately took three years was a special experience for us. By using only high quality materials and retaining the unique characteristics of the property the villa is a very exceptional place – an accomplishment that we are still very proud of.

Fortunately the flower bulb sheds are now protected by law as monuments and we can honestly say that we were pioneers in this. Our flower bulb shed is even used as a bench mark here. As icing on the cake was the “Zwarte Tulp” prize awarded to us. This prize is given to reward owners who have preserved and given another function to their flower bulb shed.

The Accommodation

Nowadays we rent the villa as a 12 person holiday home. Many family and friend weekend reunions have already taken place here. The villa has four double bedrooms, one four-person bedroom, two bathrooms with a bath and a total of three toilets.

Ground floor

Coming in on the ground floor there is a large light hall with interior balcony and a beautiful staircase. At the front of the house there is the large kitchen. Next to the authentic heater is a dining room table big enough to accommodate 12 people. The cooking fixtures are just about of professional quality and every imaginable appliance is available including a Boretti cooker with a double oven. The kitchen is spacious enough to hold a cooking workshop while still cozy enough for a delicious meal prepared for your own group. The roomy hall can be closed off with large steel sliding doors. Behind the 4 old ‘school’ doors there is a toilet, wardrobe and a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer. The living room is situated at the back half of the villa. It is comfortably furnished with 2 couches, and provided with a wood burning stove.

First floor

Via the stairs you arrive on the interior balcony and further on is the large Walk-in Closet leading to the  master bedroom. A luxurious double bed is here. This room also includes an adjoining bathroom with a double wash basin, shower and toilet. A luxurious and unique bathtub is in the bedroom itself.

Second floor

The staircase takes you to the second floor via interior balcony. The remaining bedrooms are here. There are three bedrooms for 2 persons and another spacious bedroom suitable for 4 persons. The second bedroom has its own bathroom with a toilet, bathtub with shower and a washbasin.
