All Rembrandts

15 February – 10 June 2019

In the first half of the year, the Rijksmuseum makes a splash with All Rembrandts. For the first time in its history, the museum will put all of the works by Rembrandt in its collection on display at the same time in a single exhibition. You will be able to admire as many as 22 paintings, 60 drawings, and 300 engravings.

The Rijksmuseum owns the world’s biggest and most prominent collection of Rembrandts. As such, All Rembrandts is a unique opportunity to see both his intimate self-portraits and his big tableaus and special sketches at the same time, and discover why he is among the world’s best artists even today.

Rembrandt-Velázquez

11 October 2019 – 19 January 2020

In fall, you will be able to see top works by Dutch and Spanish masters from the Golden Age at the exhibition entitled Rembrandt-Velázquez. A unique collaboration with the Museo del Prado in Madrid means that paintings by Spanish masters, such as Velázquez, Murillo and Ribera, will be on display together with works by the Dutch masters Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Hals.

Spanish and Dutch masters can be seen side by side, clearly showing how the Dutch and Spanish thought about religion, beauty, and emotion. A real must if you love art from the Golden Age!
