Dear Annabet,

Greetings from Vienna! I am writing you in regards to some information’s regarding schools in Rotterdam.

I will be relocated with work in Rotterdam. I will start working on the 10th of July and my family will follow me shortly. My son will be 6 years old in August-17, can you please let me know what I have to do to find a school for him? He speaks Romanian as a native tongue, German- Fluent and English- beginner level.

Dear Andreea,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Netherlands!
If you would choose for Dutch school, children who are already 6 or older, usually have to go to a Dutch immersion class first. They all get a personal program, which takes on average one year. Once they are really confident speaking Dutch, they transfer to a regular school. Usually they don’t lose a year. All Dutch immersion classes you can find here: www.lowan.nl.
