YOUR MISSION We are looking for a System Engineer leading the final development phase of our own first-of-its-kind life science incubator facility, the ScienceTaxi, aiming for its Maiden Flight in early 2024. YOUR TASKS Specification, design and analysis of mechanic, elctrical/electronics & software systems including system architecture and interfaces for manned and unmanned spaceflight (above all, development phases C/D/E) Requirements engineering Perform internal and external reviews Implement state-of-the-art technologies and continuously search for new innovative solutions COTS subsystem selection, procurement and qualification Support assembly, integration, validation and verification of ScienceTaxi hardware (PFM, GM, DM and GSEs) Assessment of safety aspects in the human spaceflight environment Set up of the technical framework (documentation, processes, etc.) related to the commercial exploitation of ScienceTaxi program and services Technical coordination of vehicle providers, suppliers and sub-contractors in the process of development and flight certification WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Master’s degree in space systems, mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering, or similar Experiences in similar positions and projects, above scientific and biotechnology payloads ideally are experienced with system engineering, testing, verification and qualification in the area of manned spaceflight with knowledge of space program roles, standards (e.g. ECSS and SSP) and configuration control are experienced with CAE / CAD / FEM and software tools (ANYSY, Catia, MATLAB, Python) and with MS Office are a team player with communication skills, supportive, well organized and have an independent way of working fluently speak and write in English and ideally good in German Structured way of working and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and to complete them diligently Mindset self-motivated and proactive takes full ownership comfortable with high uncertainty hands-on / getting things done persistent relentlessly resourceful analytical empathic low ego WHY YURI Is there anything more exciting than the intersection of space and biotechnology?
