To support our continuous growth, we recruit a dynamic, business and performance-driven professional for the position of Import and Export Compliance Analyst for AZENTA (m / f) The Import and Export Compliance Analyst has the primary responsibility of ensuring Azenta’s compliance with EU laws and regulations. Reporting to the Global Import/Export Manager of Azenta, the Import and Export Compliance Analyst is responsible for setting policy and coordinating all activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, Export and Import declarations, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening. As a critical member of the Azenta Corporate Compliance Team, the Import / Export Compliance Analyst interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and interpret import and export regulations and maintain current knowledge of changes Enforcing internal policies related to import/export requirements, coordinating all activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, import and export declaration review, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening Interfaces with internal / external customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import / export regulations Responsible for maintaining internal controls program to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products Reviews and clears/escalates denied party screen hits Determines product eligibility for trade agreements Participates in continuous improvement process related to Azenta’s Trade Compliance Program and manages document revisions of internal controls and procedures Conducts periodic export and import self-assessments of Azenta’s Compliance policies and procedures and implements any necessary corrective actions Interacts with EU Customs, Trade Authorities and presents to Azenta Senior Management on trade compliance Key Responsibilities (cont’d): Collaborates with procurement, finance, tax, product marketing, logistics, order entry, and engineering ,functions as required Develops and conducts trade compliance training; administers training records Maintains and ensures the highest level of ethical standards Some travel required Education: Bachelor’s in business, Logistics, or related field, and at least 5 years in Import/Export experience required Customs Compliance Training through accredited program preferred Experience: Practical experience applying EU Customs regulations and submitting licenses to relevant regulatory bodies such as CITES & BAFA. Specific EU member countries may require additional licenses base on the export details or sample type. Skills: Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Possess excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to solve problems in a complex and dynamic environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of international business practices and EU customs requirements. Understanding of Customs Regulations in the US and Asia. Experience with Biological / Biotech Samples and Medical Devices considered a plus. Thoroughly familiar with international shipping documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and export license; including consignee information, INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff code and nomenclature, country of origin, customs value, export classification, and license data Fluent in English (written and spoken) French highly preferred also Requires advanced Excel skills and ability to interpret data Must have familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle What we offer you?
