Ballast Nedam, our client, is specialized into the construction area and more especially the team prefers to work on complex construction projects. As a team, they work on a daily basis on the realization of construction projects, urban development, infrastructure and maintenance. For a specific construction project in Luxembourg which is going to last min 3 years, Ballast Nedam is looking to hire under a permanent contract (full-time): 1 HSE Engineer (m/f/x) The HSE (Hygiene, security and environment) Engineer is responsible for the safety of the works, health issues such as infective disease prevention, workforce wellbeing and related industrial relations issues, environmental protection. Responsibilities and duties: · Implementation, management and improvement the HSE System ; · Provide daily monitoring of work activities and practices on the project; · Stop work in situations that involve imminent danger, and stipulate acceptable work practices to be implemented before work can be resumed and report to HSE Manager; · Conduct project accident investigations, and document causative factors; · Coordinate safety inspections with site supervision; · Remain aware of Owner and legislated safety and health requirements that are applicable to the project and distribute information on new or revised requirements to the site manager; · Implement legislated HSE regulations and maintain the record-keeping system; · Prepare required safety performance and accident investigation reports; · Provide safety training for all direct-hire and subcontract manual forces; · Inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems; · Provide leadership for the project safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs, including: – Conduct safety orientation for new employees – Prepare and implement project specific safety procedures and monitor subcontractor safety meetings – Inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems Profile: The position holder must: · Be familiar with HSE and quality standards in the construction area in Luxembourg ; · Have a proven experience in delivering projects of similar nature; · Be well-versed in methodologies and procedures in HSE Management; · Fluent in French and English. Additional information : Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to Construction site environment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, respiratory, and hearing protective devices.
