John will be our special guest this Sunday and share some experiences and insights into the building of his international operatic career. He’ll share with us a little of what it takes and how chance works to endeavour on this awesome career path. And of course, there are humorous anecdotes.

In the US, John performs regularly with leading opera houses and is well known for his musical theatre activities. He has appeared in several shows on Broadway including the Tony Award winning revival of Chicago and the new musical, Band in Berlin.

A performer from a young age, John was the youngest male soloist ever to tour with the legendary group, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, personally selected by Mr. Waring himself. His European theatrical debut came in the Paris premiere of Hello Dolly! at the Chatelet Opera in a record-breaking four month sold-out engagement.

John, also a puppeteer, began his own puppet production company at seven and still maintains it. He also previously had a corporate advertising career and received both the ADDY Award and the American Advertising Federation’s Young Advertiser of the Year Award.

John Easterlin is appearing on January 24, 28, 31 and February 3, 7 and 10 in "La Femme sans ombre" ("Die Frau ohne Schatten"). For a look at a photo of the exciting minimalist production and ticket information, visit www.operadeparis.fr
