PARIS, Jan 21 (AFP) – Prices on France’s superfast TGV trains are to rise a couple of euros from the end of January, although a few lines will be discounted and promotional deals will continue to offer savings, the state rail operator said Friday.
The hike is in line with annual increases to keep pace with inflation and other charges, the SNCF company said in a statement.
From January 31, an adult one-way ticket from Paris to Marseille will cost EUR 1.90 more at EUR 72.70, a trip to Bordeaux will cost EUR 1.60 more at EUR 62 and Paris-Lyon will jump EUR 1.40 more to EUR 57.
The slightly cheaper destinations will be from Paris to Toulouse, Brest and a handful of other towns, with tickets dropping one to two euros.
