A planeload of around 130 Roma rounded up as part of a French clampdown left Paris Charles de Gaulle airport Friday for the Romanian city of Timisoara, an AFP correspondent reported.

Immigration Minister Eric Besson said earlier that 139 Roma would be flown out despite mounting international criticism of President Nicolas Sarkozy's crackdown on Roma and Gypsy minorities.
