Foreign ministers of the "Friends of Syria" group will meet in Doha on Saturday to discuss aid for the rebels, including military help, a French diplomat said.

Ministers of Britain, France, the United States, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt will attend the meeting, the source said Wednesday.

It will address in a "concerted, coordinated and complementary manner" the concerns raised by the opposition's military chief during the last "Friends of Syria" meeting in Ankara last Friday, the diplomat said.

The rebels have asked for anti-air and anti-tank missiles.

The world leaders should listen to the wish of the Syrian people (see World Tribune from 31-May), with 70% being for Assad because he does not enforce extreme religion. I have contact in Syria, and I can confirm this. Not only most Shiites and Christians are for Assad, but also common Sunnis, e.g. women who to not wish to wear the veil or men that prefer a modern society over sharia law. The FSA (the so-called good guys) is not distancing itself from al-Nusra and similar extremists.
