We are currently looking for a Purchasing Manager Traded-Goods H/F based in Obernai, Saverne or Blieskastel for a permanent contract.

You will be responsible for the category-related development and execution of the global sourcing strategy throughout leading, managing, and development of the respective department with xx managers and buyers located in Europe (and Asia), responsible for sourcing of all direct materials allocated to the department, and for respective plants of the Hager Group worldwide.

Your missions

  • Execute the global sourcing throughout formal plans (e.g., Sourcing X-Matrix, Operational Plan) and initiatives aiming to improve costs, quality, and supplier performance. Leverage, development and manage of a global supply base that will deliver the appropriate value contribution for products and solutions. Enabling our customers to take advantage of global sourcing opportunities through Best Value Procurement (BVP)
  • Establish strong working relationships with strategic suppliers of respective categories and other external business partners to optimize value creation through the global supply base. Act as the primary interface with strategic suppliers and other external business partners with the goal to build strong business relationships. Collaborate with internal key stakeholder (e.g., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Application Centers) to develop strategies that lead to business opportunities and competitive advantages, leveraged by the global supply base of the Hager Group
  • Execute and apply the global risk management system on respective categories to support to anticipating global supply market risks related to respective categories and strategic suppliers. Conduct periodic business reviews with strategic suppliers during which business risks will be determined and evaluated, and intiatives for risk mitigation will be deployed
  • Create a long-term perspective of future needs of the department in terms of competencies and skills, and develop employees towards a fit with those needs and/or integrate external candidates or specialists throughout hiring process. Review periodically the organizational capabilities and exchange with supervispr about training needs to attain the necessary competencies and skills of employees that meet the long-term perpective and needs of the organization as communicated by the supervisor
  • Negotiate with key suppliers, and support team members with the negotiation with their suppliers, to ensure best possible results concerning terms and conditions entered with suppliers. Ensure that related contracts have been negotiated, signed, and confirmed by suppliers in compliance with applicable policies and processes

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in econonmics, engineering, electronics, or supply chain management.

More than 5 years experience in sourcing for a global acting company in size and complexity compared to the Hager Group. More than 3 years experience in developing and managing global sourcing teams.

Strong proven track record concerning the implementation of global procurement strategies derived from corporate and/or group strategies generating a clear value contribution beyond traditional KPI’s.

Expert in category management, supplier management, and global market intelligence, particularly for electronic components and traded goods.

Ability to understand value streams, cost drivers and how to break down cost structures. Capable to negotiate and draft legal contracts with suppliers autonomouesly.

International exposure; familiar to work within an international and multi-cultural environment and ability to travel globally to suppliers and to Hager plants (approximately 20% of working time).

SAP, Microsoft Office

  • Business fluent in English. French or German would be an additional asset.
