The Data Integration Center (DIZ) is looking for a*n as soon as possible.
Deputy* Head* of Data Integration Center (m/f/d).
As a central facility, the Data Integration Center (DIZ) represents a basic component for data-driven medicine at Freiburg University Hospital and is, among other things, part of the nationwide Medical Informatics Initiative (MII). The goal is to process patient care data in a uniform manner, while maintaining data protection, and to make it available for quality assurance tasks, process optimization and, in particular, for scientific questions. In this way, the DIZ makes a significant contribution to improving patient care and to scientific progress.

As part of a dedicated and collegial management team, you will apply your skills to the following tasks in particular:
- Assumption of responsibilities for operation, expansion and ongoing optimization of the IT infrastructure within the DIZ
- Partially responsible development or establishment of structures within the DIZ against the background of the requirements of the site and the medical informatics initiative
- (Further) development of the internal processes of the DIZ and their monitoring
- Coordination and follow-up of tasks within the DIZ team
- Support and representation of the facility management, especially in the representation of the DIZ internally and externally
You convince by
- Completed studies in (medical) informatics, data science or equivalent qualification (especially with a strong medical background), if necessary with a doctorate
- Several years of professional experience and strong competence in the field of personnel management and project management
- Extensive experience on processes and IT applications in a clinical facility
- Extensive experience in design/programming using programming languages such as Java, C#/C++, or Python, and knowledge of databases such as Oracle, Postgres, or SQL Server, respectively
- Knowledge and experience in the area of interface technologies and interoperability standards in healthcare (including FHIR, HL7, LOINC, SNOMED-CT)
- Knowledge of modern operational, development and integration methodologies (including DevOps with Docker / Kubernetes, Apache Kafka)
- Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
- very good communication skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with changing fields of activity and issues in the medical domain
- reliable, structured and goal-oriented way of working
- the ability to develop measures with foresight, to initiate and accompany change processes
- desirable: previous experience in the field of medical informatics initiative (MII)
