France condemns Tel Aviv suicide bombing

PARIS, Nov 1 (AFP) – France condemned the Palestinian suicide attack Monday in Tel Aviv that killed four people, including the bomber, and called on all sides in the Middle East conflict to avoid a new cycle of violence.

“France strongly condemns the terrorist attack carried out today on a market in Tel Aviv which, according to initial reports, caused the deaths of four people and left numerous wounded,” foreign ministry spokesman Herve Ladsous said.

“We offer our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims as well as the Israeli authorities,” he said.

“Terrorism is unacceptable and unjustifiable. We call on all parties to mobilise to avoid a resumption of the tragic cycle of violence.”

A teenage Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up and killed three other people and wounded dozens in an open-air food market in the heart of Tel Aviv, Israel’s commercial capital Tel Aviv.

The attack was claimed by the leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, one of the smaller militant groups.
