New online platform to support Brits in Spain

The millions of Brits living in and visiting Spain each year will now have an invaluable tool at their fingertips as brand new website, www.worxler.com, was launched on 15 April 2015. Making it easier for foreign visitors and expats in Spain to find local suppliers – from tour guides to babysitters, hairdressers to plumbers – Worxler aims to remove the middleman, and open up significant new local connections to the British expat and tourist market.

With the slogan ‘Get the service you need, anywhere’, Worxler will allow people to locate and hire suppliers in a country they are unfamiliar with. ‘Taskers’ (those who carry out the service) are given feedback in the form of a star rating, allowing ‘Askers’ (those who require the service) to choose only the most trusted locals to support them while overseas.

Initially to be launched in Spain, the service will soon be rolled out across Europe and beyond. CEO and Co-Founder Valentin Kachanov said, “We made Worxler for Spain because it’s a great example of a place with a real need for this service. Spain is a popular country that has managed to maintain its cultural and linguistic independence, but it also means that it can be hard to find what you need if you don’t have a lot of Spanish. Worxler offers the space for Brits and anyone who speaks English to find a service quickly and easily, working with locals who have the skills and understand their language.

With no fee for sourcing and hiring, or for posting a task, Worxler currently offers support in the areas of:

  • Home repairs;
  • Child Care and tutoring;
  • Transportation;
  • Household chores;
  • Education and training;
  • Health and beauty;
  • Consulting;
  • Internet.

At the time of launch, around 2,700 users had registered to either offer or avail of services across every major city and tourist resort in Spain.

Mobile apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone that will offer additional options and services are currently being developed, and are expected to be launched in the summer.
