MADRID - High Court Judge Santiago Pedraz on Tuesday sought to press ahead with a probe into the death of a Spanish cameraman in Baghdad in 2003, a week after he was overruled by another section of the court.

In a move that could revive the investigation into the killing by American troops of Antena 3 cameraman José Couso, Pedraz has summoned former Defence Minister Federico Trillo and former Foreign Minister Ana Palacio as witnesses.

Pedraz intends to ask them to explain what information they received from the US government following the attack by three US soldiers in a tank on the Palestine Hotel, where Couso and other journalists were staying.

Pedraz had been seeking to put the three soldiers on trial and had issued warrants for their arrest.
