BILBAO - A powerful bomb allegedly planted by Basque terrorist group ETA exploded outside the offices of Basque newspaper El Correo in the early hours of Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to the building but no injuries, police said.

The device, apparently composed of around five kilograms of explosive, detonated shortly after 3am when around 50 people were inside the building.

The blast caused part of the building's façade to collapse and also damaged nearby shops and warehouses in the Torre Larragoiti industrial estate on the outskirts of Zamudio.
