SEVILLE - Police in Seville have arrested a Romanian couple after they attempted to sell their newborn child, apparently because it was a girl.

The unnamed couple were arrested after staff at the local hospital where the woman gave birth said the couple had asked them for money for the baby, saying they did not want a girl. When no one accepted their offer they abandoned the child and left. The child is now in the care of social services.

It´s worse than horrible, it´s inconceivable, incomprehensible and inhuman. As a mother, it makes me extremely upset and angry, that someone can a) abandon their baby, and b) try to sell it! People like that do not deserve to have children, be they boys or girls. It´s as bad as India and China, where the orphanages are full of baby girls. Romanians get bad press here in Spain for all sorts of crimes, but is this behaviour is typical, then I´m sorry but they deserve it. I hope they go to prison - at least that way they won´t be able to have any more babies to flog to the highest bidder. Que asco!

This is HORRIBLE!!! I have to say that these parents were not very great parents. It should not matter what sex the baby is, It was still their own flesh and blood.
