International clown festival in Madrid

16th September 2009, Comments 0 comments

The 14th Maraton de Clown is back in town and promises you lots of laughter.

For the 14th year in a row, clowns will gather in Madrid in mid-September to make people laugh.

The 10-day festival will offer a wide range of shows ranging from mimics to monologues or plays; elaborated costumes or none at all and aim to make people laugh.

Basing their performance on the Corazonadas (I have a feeling or from the heart) theme, the clowns participating in the festival are both professionals and amateurs that come from all parts of Spain.

Each clown will perform for 14 minutes in which they will surprise the spectators with their extravaganza and antics.

The audience will also be able to gain an inside into the clowns’ world as the theatre practises an open concept and allows easy mingling.

The public are free to meet the clowns during their rehearsals, make-up session and preparations. Viewers are welcome to ask the clowns’ questions after, and if they dare, during the show too!
