LAS PALMAS – A woman will compete for the title of Carnival Drag Queen in the Gran Canaria capital Las Palmas for the first time, organisers announced Tuesday on the Spanish Canary Island.
The 15 candidates include a woman named Noa, whose dress and dance performance is called The Night of the Witches. Noa is the first woman to seek the title of the Las Palmas Drag Queen since the contest was launched 11 years ago.
Male candidates include Drag Mintrax, presenting Inferno, Drag Seregon, with The Sacrifice of Andromeda, Drag Asharik, with Sweet Nightmare, Drag Orion, with Mutation as the Other Side of Cuddling, and Saint Drag, who will bring A Stream of Love to the carnival.
The Carnival Drag Queen will be elected at a gala in the Santa Catalina park on Friday.
