Two ETA members sentenced to jail in France

Two members of the Basque separatist group ETA were sentenced to jail terms Tuesday by a French court on a number of weapons and stealing charges.

Aitzol Iriondo Yarza, 36 and considered one of the interim military leaders of ETA, was given a nine-year term by the Paris judge, while his accomplice, Eneko Zarrabeitia-Salterain, 31, received seven years.

They were convicted of possessing arms and explosives, stolen vehicles and stolen vehicle licence plates.
