Protesters vow to stay on in major Madrid square

Spain’s anti-crisis protesters voted in a show of hands Sunday to keep their tent encampment in Madrid’s central Puerta del Sol square, with no date set for quitting.

Thousands of people protesting political corruption, welfare cuts and soaring unemployment crowded the square and threw their hands up to agree with the motion: “We will stay and later decide until when.”
