Internet child porn police raids net 21 suspects

MADRID — Police arrested 21 people across Spain on Wednesday in the latest operation against Internet child pornography.

The suspects, which included a teacher, IT professionals, students, photographers, salesmen and administrators, are accused of distributing images of child pornography on the Internet.

The operation started after police discovered a video clip lasting more than ten minutes which showed a naked child carrying out sex acts.

Eighteen judges and more than 100 police took part in the operation.

All those arrested were Spanish apart from one Italian.

One of those arrested was detained in a similar operation in April.

Raids were carried out in Madrid, a dormitory town nearby called  Alcalá de Henares, Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante, Jumilla in Murcia, Cádiz,  Torremolinos, Albacete, Oviedo, Gijón, Arona in Tenerife and another in Trujillo in western Spain.
